MATERIAL HANDLER / FORKLIFT OPERATOR- GRIFFIN, GA
Performs manual and complex shipping, receiving, packing and warehouse duties. Prepares related documentation and maintains files/records. Provides leadership to lower level staff.
Maintains inventory levels by identifying, labeling, stocking and recording materials and supplies.
Recognizes damaged product during the warehousing process and takes the appropriate action when discovered.
Responds to material requests from internal customers.
Responsible and accountable for receipt, storage, and handling of hazardous materials
Cycle counts inventory as needed.
Education & Experience
Five years of warehouse experience is required. Solid verbal communication and listening skills. Prior experience tracking and updating information in an ERP system is desired.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to collect, receive, store, select, transport and ship materials, supplies, and/or equipment.
Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer
Works predominantly on the manufacturing floor. May be exposed to heat, electrical and mechanical hazards, noise, solvents, dust, dirt, fumes, contaminants, cold, noise, vibration, etc.
Climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing and ability to move material weighing up to 70 lbs.
Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment
Ability to use of hand tools, power tools, gas torches and measuring instruments
Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and use measuring equipment
Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Must be able to walk and use hands
Ability to read, write, listen and speak
