Designs, fabricates, tests, implements and modifies heat transfer
components, products and systems in a production setting.
Establishes test procedures and systems for inspecting, analyzing and evaluating incoming or improved refrigeration components and systems
Performs developmental and/or test work which requires a comprehensive knowledge of thermodynamic theory and design.
Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, analyzes technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches necessary
to meet production requirements for new or improved products and/or processes.
Reviews and approves related inputs such as drawings and specifications prepared by technical support personnel. Coordinates with technical support personnel to conduct prototype or experimental runs for products or processes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
and emphasis in Thermo-Fluids or related field
5 years of experience troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving complex Refrigeration, component and device problems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Skills, abilities, or special licenses needed to perform the job (software, professional certifications, drivers’ license, languages, etc.)
Strong technical knowledge of Thermodynamics
Experience testing and evaluating basic and complex
refrigeration systems and the ability to develop and execute a test plan.
Experience in managing all phases of refrigeration
Proficient use of diagnostic tools and test instrumentation
Excellent technical and computer skills
Solid analytical, critical thinking , problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to prepare concise and coherent reporting and documentation
Describe the level of decision making and extent that this job can structure objectives/activities and affect outcomes.
Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.

Works predominantly on the manufacturing floor. May
be exposed to heat, electrical and mechanical hazards, noise , solvents, dust, dirt, fumes, contaminants, cold, noise, vibration, etc.
Climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing and ability to move material weighing up to 40 lbs
Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment
Ability to use of hand tools, power tools , gas torches and measuring instruments
Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and use measuring equipment
Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Must be able to walk and use hands
Ability to read, write , listen and speak
Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate
Requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
Ability to lift boxes/materials weighing up to 10 lbs
